Casual position, Level 2, $35.51 per hour

Kyabra Community Association Inc. is a community-based organisation that is committed to strengthening individual, family and community life.

We are currently seeking a supportive, reliable, creative and dedicated male support worker to support a gentleman in a one-on-one capacity based in Springfield. The shifts would be on Monday 12.30pm–4.30pm and Saturday 12.30pm–5pm, plus backup as required, for in-home/personal care and community support. Experience with positive behaviour support and epilepsy training is essential. It is a requirement of the role that you are available for these shifts and up to a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Additional shifts will be available at Sunnybank Hills with a young man who has high support needs.

Other shifts with Kyabra may be available to work alongside community members who have a range of differing needs, including people with a disability, mental health and children in care.

Essential Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support/ Disability Support (students studying in a relevant degree such as Human Services, Allied Health, Nursing, Exercise/Sports Science or Social Work may be considered).
  • Positive Behaviour Support and Epilepsy training.
  • Completed the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
  • Current Australian Driver’s License.
  • Roadworthy/registered vehicle and willingness to use to transport participants.
  • Blue Card and Yellow Card/NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (we can assist you to apply).
  • LCS2 -Working with Children in care (we can assist you to apply).
  • First Aid and CPR is mandatory prior to commencing work.
