Part-time four days per week, fixed term appointment to June 2023

Kyabra Community Association Inc. is a community-based organisation that is committed to strengthening individual, family and community life.  We provide strengths-based, integrated responses to people in our community.

Kyabra operates an integrated model and works with individuals, families and carers with sometimes complex issues. 

The position will focus on the provision of Kyabra’s Financial Resilience programs and work within the Intake and Assessment Team and, in conjunction with the Manager and other team members, will be responsible for ensuring the following activities are carried out:

• Initial needs identification and assessment including provision of information to those seeking to access Kyabra Community Finance Initiatives;
• Referral to appropriate services both internally and externally;
• Undertaking financial conversations such as budgeting support, information, financial assistance and NILS (No Interest Loans);
• Information and advocacy regarding housing and homelessness as it impacts community members’ financial situation.

This position involves both phone and face to face work with community members and will be required to work across Kyabra’s Richlands and Runcorn sites.  Experience in Intake and Assessment, Financial Resilience and/or provision of NILS programs is essential.  An understanding of the intersectionality between housing and community finance sector is highly desirable.

• A Bachelor Degree in Social Work/Human Services, or Qualification in Financial Counselling or similar is an essential requirement for this role.
